Hey.

Alright, I finally decided that I'm going to move to my other Xanga.

So I guess I'll see you there?

Tuesday, March 29, 2005

Hey.

[EDIT] AHH! I LOVE RACHEL. hahaha. Her dad was able to get tickets to the SP show and she's inviting me to it! That's so sweet and nice of her! :) Thank you sooo much, Rachel. You're the fucking best.

Well, I can't go to the SP show. No more tickets. :( I went to Fanscape to pick them up right after school, and when I got there around 2, they had a sign up saying, 'NO MORE SIMPLE PLAN TICKETS.' Fuck. I knew I should have gone yesterday when they first became available! Oh well. At least they'll be back here soon enough...but I would have liked to have gone to this show a whole lot more because it's at the Troubadour, which is a club/small venue. And, plus, Good Charlotte won't be there. Heh.

And this is what I find really stupid about this.

The email that Shane sent out saying that no more tickets are available was sent out, like, at 2 or 3 PM. How convienient; the time when people in school that want to pick up tickets get out of school, are going to Fanscape probably right after to pick up them up, and not get a chance before to go home and check their email to see if an email has been sent out saying that there's none left. And it's stupid how we all had to go down to Fanscape in order to get the tickets! What about the people that live really far and went there to get tickets to only find out that there's none left? That's really not fair. The least they could have done is do some sort of contest thing instead, or really just something other than what they did. That was poorly planned out.

Eh. Anyways...haha, anyone want to go to the Academy Is.../JamisonParker/Mae show on March 28th at the El Rey? Because I really don't know anyone right now who wants to go and yeah. haha, I always ask if someone wants to go to a show with me. :P

Wow..it's already past 7 PM?? Sheesh. I hate how fast time passes by. Most of the time.

Tomorrow's the Plain White T's/The Matches/Roses are Red show at the Troubadour. And yeah, I can't go. :( Heh, I said that I would go to that show for sure when I first found out about it, but I can't find anyone to go with me and I don't think my parents really want me to go, so I can't. Fuck it.

And I hate the 'Noise to the World' tour, the upcoming Simple Plan/Good Charlotte tour. I'm also starting to really hate GC. If you weren't aware of that already. They really need to just cancel the whole tour. It's just so fucked up! That's why. And right now, I don't even think the tour's coming to California/the West Coast! Just look at all the dates that have been annouced so far...

5/3 - Tulsa, OK - Expo Square Pavilion
5/4 - Oklahoma City, OK - Fairgrounds Arena
5/5 - Kansas City, MO - Memorial Auditorium
5/7 - Springfield, MO - Shrine Mosque
5/8 - Indianapolis, IN - Pepsi Coliseum
5/10 - Cleveland, OH - Tower City Amphitheater
5/11 - Columbus, OH - Promowest Pavilion
5/12 - Ft. Wayne, IN - Memorial Coliseum Expo Center
5/16 - Hershey, PA - Hershey Park Pavilion
5/17 - Portland, ME - Cumberland Cty. Civic Center
5/18 - Providence, RI - Dunkin Donuts Arena
5/23 - Utica, NY - Utica Auditorium
5/25 - Philadelphia, PA - Festival Pier
5/27 - Atlanta, GA - Hi Fi Buys Amphitheater
6/1 - Charlotte, NC - Grady Cole Center

See, absolutely NOTHING for the West Coast. What the fuck? And the tour only goes from May 3rd to June 5th, leaving practically no other available dates. The dates that haven't been announced yet aren't likely going to be here, so I really don't think they'll come here. pft.

Well, this post is weird. It's just like me mostly complaining about shows. haha.

Monday, March 28, 2005

Hey.

Yessss, I probably can get tickets to the Simple Plan show here at the Troubadour on April 5th either today or tomorrow from what the email I got from the Invasion Crew said. I'll probably get the tickets tomorrow right after school [minimum day..yay] and I'm going to try to get 2 pairs of tickets [get one myself, and then have my mom get a pair because only one pair is allowed per person..and if they haven't sold out of them yet]. Anyone want to go if I can get tickets? Because I know that practically none of my other friends would want to. haha.

Well, if I can't/anyone can't get tickets, KIIS is going to have them available for their VIP thing...but for 30,000 points. Geez, 30,000?? I doubt anyone has that much. I only have 6,000 something.

Eh, it was back to school today. :( I really didn't want to go. At least it went by kind of fast. haha. Everyone noticed that I sort of cut some of my hair around my face, for some reason. It was just a little part, really, and suddenly, everyone notices! No one noticed at all when I first cut my hair, so what the hell? haha.

Anyways...here's a random picture I took when I was in San Francisco...

Yeah, it's just really some buildings and stuff in Chinatown. haha.

I kind of want to change the song playing to something else...but I can't find any other Academy Is... song links, and, besides, I love this song. <333 I think I'm getting more obsessed with TAI...I've been listening to them practically non-stop since the show and going to all these sites relating to them and keep on staring at my pictures of them and yeah. I don't think I can possibly wait 2 more months to see them again. :P

And I'm temporarily changing my profile picture. But I kind of feel like by posting the picture of William and I, I'm trying to show off or something...which I'm NOT...and I don't know. Whatever. I know I think weirdly. Well, I'm just really going to leave it up until I find a better icon/picture of TAI.

I didn't know that Aldo had met DJ and Greg from Never Heard Of It at the show back in January! He brought the pictures from that show today...and he looks scared in the picture. He claims that Greg was 'scaring' him because he didn't know who he was. What the hell? haha.

Okay, I'm gonna go and watch last night's 'Damage Control.'

Sunday, March 27, 2005

 Hey.

Well, San Francisco was alright, but I'm pretty sure it could have been tons better if I did get to go to the Fueled By Ramen and Friends Tour there too. :( Eh.

I couldn't go because my parents said I couldn't go by myself and they weren't willing to go along with me, and they said that the show on Wednesday would be the last show I could go to by myself, so yeah. pft.

Yeah, that's the venue.

One of the buses/trailers. haha. Don't know why I took pictures of this and the venue.

We passed by the venue 4 times yesterday. Twice before the show, once during the show, and once after the show. I really don't understand why I couldn't have gone by myself. Other than the fact that it could be 'dangerous' and whatnot. Heh.

Oh well; at least I can see the Academy Is... on May 28th at the El Rey...which is about 2 months from now though...:(

Anyways...back to school tomorrow! Just great...

haha, I never knew that William from TAI used to go by 'Bill.' He really doesn't look like a Bill.

Oh, now my iPod's working and I can upload songs on it again. Yay. haha.

I think I'm finally getting over my cold. It's been what, 2 weeks? Sheesh. Finally.

Okay, I really have nothing else to say and this entry is boring...they mostly always are...eh. :P

I think I'll go and comment back now...if I don't get back to you today, I'll most likely comment back tomorrow.

Thursday, March 24, 2005

Hey.

The show...wasn't as great as I expected it to be, because of all the idiots in the crowd, but it was still really awesome. :)

And I really doubt this entry will be as long as the one about the NHOI show. haha.

I got to the House of Blues around 1:38 PM, and no one was in the front and I didn't know where to wait, so my mom and I went and looked and went down these stairs and this person that worked there told us to stay where the end of the stairs were, or something. And Freddy wasn't there. Damn Aldo just had to give the ticket to him...

Then my mom was saying that Freddy won't come and stuff like that, because he was supposed to be there at 1, and it was past 2 at that point. She saw these people standing by the driveway and decided to ask if they were in line and if they knew where the line started. They said that they were here for the show, but they weren't in line, and the line should start at this blue fence that was by the driveway, so then we moved there.

We saw these people by these other stairs leading to the "Music Hall" by where we were standing and I think my mom either asked if that was where the line started, or she asked the box office. Either way, they said that the line was for people who bought something to eat at the restaurant there and if you ate there and got a receipt, you'd get to go inside first when the doors first open. Then I forgot what happened...then my mom went and made reservations for the restaurant at 5:15. Then we found out from the people that were in line that you could even eat now instead of waiting, so then we both went inside and ate. More like ordered some things to go and then I went back in line. haha.

And, to make a long story short, my mom wasn't going to let me stay and wait by myself/let me go to the show because Freddy didn't show up and didn't want me going by myself, but she did and realized how much I wanted to go, thankfully. She left, but kept on calling me practically non-stop though!

While I was waiting, it was really windy and I was freezing. I put on my hood on my hoodie and my arms inside it, haha. Some people liked my hoodie, and thought the SF [standing for Senses Fail] meant 'San Francisco.' Joking, I think. Then this guy asked me what it stood for, and he's like, "Ew, Senses Fail?!" Now he was joking for sure because he said so. haha.

I saw Adam, Andy, and Tom from the Academy Is... pass by the line; Adam, about three or four times. Didn't get to talk to him though.

At 5:50 something, they started letting us in. I told the guy that was searching our bags and waving a metal detector wand over us that I had a photo pass, and he told me to go to the "Industry Pick-Up" on the side. It took forever there and my name wasn't even on the list, but the guy working there was nice enough to let me have one anyway. Aw. :) haha. Then I went back to the entrance and they said to go to the side entrance. pft, I didn't even need the stupid receipt from the restaurant! Waste of $21 something. Oh well.

They checked me again, stamped my hand, and I went in and there were already a lot of people in front of the stage. I tried to get as close as I could, and I ended up about 10 feet away from the stage, or something like that. I wanted to go to the Fall Out Boy merch table and get the pre-sale thing for 'From Under the Cork Tree' and get a little poster, patch, and a wristband to meet them after the show, but it was already really crowded around the merch table so I just stayed where I was.

Finally, after waiting for almost an hour, the screen in front of the stage goes up, and the curtains behind it went to the sides. Then the guitarist, bassist, and drummer of Gym Class Heroes appear on stage and the lead singer came onto the stage. Eh, they were sort of boring. The lead singer kept on making faces and he was doing gross things, like pretending to pick something out of his ear and then nose and fling it from off his finger. And he also held one side of his nose and snot just came flying out onto the stage. Yuck. But Patrick from Fall Out Boy and William from the Academy Is... came out on stage and sang a little bit. Yay. haha.

Their set lasted about...30 minutes? Something like that. Then the curtains closed and the screen went back down.

I think about at 7:40, the Academy Is... came on stage. They were unbelievably AWESOME. I started taking pictures at that point, but I couldn't take that many because the stupid security guards would tell me not to and shined a flashlight on me when I was about to take a picture. And I had a fucking photo pass! Shouldn't that allow me the right to take pictures? pft. Oh well, at least I was able to take a few of them. And here's their set list...

- Attention
- Season
- Down and Out
- Slow Down
- The Phrase That Pays
- Classifieds
- Checkmarks

During 'Season', William was swinging the mic around a little bit and he dropped in on the ground and yeah. It was cute, in a way. Eh, you just had to be there. haha. :P When they started playing 'Slow Down', everyone started PUSHING and SHOVING against everyone else. Ugh. It was really uncomfortable. I wanted to take my hoodie off so badly, because I was starting to get really hot, but there was no room to, so I left it on the entire time. Not a great idea. Now it's all covered in sweat. And I just washed it too. psh. haha.

Not a whole lot of things happened during their set. Except that I tried getting as close as I could to the front, but couldn't. Oh, someone that was right in front of the stage took a picture of William with the flash on, and he pretended to be dazed and kind of stumbled around, wide-eyed for a few seconds. It was really cute. haha.

Hm...what song was it..? I think during either 'Slow Down' or 'The Phrase That Pays', Pete from Fall Out Boy came out on stage and sang along. And either one of those songs and maybe 'Classifieds', Gabe from Midtown came out and sang too. Aw, he and William both hugged each other really tightly afterwards. haha.

Pictures of the Academy Is...

^ Yeah. It's Adam, William, and Andy. haha. I don't know what else to say.

^ He moved while I was taking the picture, so that's why he's so far to the side...

^ Someone's head...and William looks a little on the scary side...look at his eyes. haha.

^ Aw, it's blurry.

^ I love his hair. Even though you can't really see it in here. :P

^ This is probably my favorite picture I took. <333 And also one of the only ones that came out alright. haha.

^ It's Mike, and damn it, this one's blurry too!

^ Tom and William..and this one's nice. haha.

^ It's all blurry and weird because I took it without flash.

^ haha, that gold-ish thing is someone's hair.

^ At least this one looks neat. haha. I took mainly only pictures of William...well, he was the easiest one to photograph.

^ You can barely make them out...it's Tom and Adam. Damn security guards that didn't let me take pictures that made me resort to taking some of them without flash. pft.

I only took pictures of the Academy Is... because I didn't get a chance to take out my camera during the other bands since I was so squished that I couldn't get my camera out and also the stupid security guards.

Their set lasted about 30 minutes too. And as soon as they were done, everyone started pushing again, but this time it was really bad. At least I almost got to the front. Heh. And Andy threw out one of his drumsticks into the crowd and I almost got it but I didn't.

At 8:30 or so, the curtains opened and 'Napoleon Dynamite' was at the microphone introducing Midtown. haha. It was really one of their guitar techs..but he looks a lot like the guy who plays Napoleon. Sort of. And yeah, Midtown was awesome. This dumbass girl was trying to get in between me and this guy standing next to me, so I kept on pushing back. But that bitch wouldn't stop it, so I just let her in. Whatever. And I got pushed against the person in front of me practically the whole time. Sheesh. Oh yeah, I saw Adam from the Academy Is... standing near the back of the stage watching their set. haha.

After they were done, everyone started pushing AGAIN. This time, it was much worse. I wanted to get out so badly, but I really wanted to stay where I was, so I did. I shouldn't have.

It took forever for Fall Out Boy to go on. Everyone in the crowd started getting impatient and started chanting, "FALL OUT BOY!" which did nothing.

FINALLY, the curtains opened...and 'Baby Got Back' started to play. haha. Then all of the members of Fall Out Boy came out. They were really awesome too, but I hated the crowd so much. Eh, can't really help it if all the people are dumbasses.

Set list...

- Tell That Mick He Just Made My List of Things to Do Today
- Dead On Arrival
- Calm Before the Storm
- Nobody Puts Baby in the Corner
- Sugar, We're Going Down
- Our Lawyers Made Us Change the Name of This Song So We Wouldn't Get Sued
- Homesick at Space Camp
- The Patron Saint of Liars and Fakes
- Grand Theft Autumn/Where is Your Boy
- Grenade Jumper
- Chicago is So Two Years Ago
- [One of their older songs I didn't know the name to]
- Saturday

They played way more songs than the rest did...of course though; they're the headlining band. haha.

You can imagine how the crowd was during their set. Pushing, shoving, moshing, crowd surfing, whatever. You name it, and they probably did it. Heh. I got hit in the head so many time by stupid crowd surfers and peoples' arms in back of me. Idiots. All these people also kept on trying to get in front of me, which was really idiotic. This guy standing next to me suddenly turned to me during one of the songs and said "Here!" and was about to pick me up and have me crowd surf, but I shouted out no. No way was I crowd surfing after seeing what they did to the crowd surfers. They would pick up the person and they'd be thrown to front where the guard was and land on the ground. pft.

Pete crowd surfed though, and I got to touch his leg. :P

Let's see...what happened during their set? Uh, the only thing I can really remember is them dedicating 'Chicago is So Two Years Ago' to TAI and I think they had Hey Chris come out on stage during 'Grenade Jumper' but I wasn't paying attention at that time. Oh yeah, they had a raffle where you could get a free raffle ticket from their merch table at the beginning of the show, and during FOB's set, they would choose 5 tickets, and whoever wins gets to go to the after party at the Key Club afterwards and could also bring a friend along. Well, this guy brought out a box and gave it to Pete. He started pulling some out and yeah. I should have entered. haha.

By the second song, I wanted out so badly. People were pulling out my hair and I couldn't breathe at all and was suffocating and exhausted. I wanted to get one of the security guards' attention and have them lift me out of the crowd, but I decided to stay up until the last songs.

Well, I lasted about 8 songs. haha. During 'The Patron Saint of Liars and Fakes', everyone was going CRAZY and I couldn't breathe or take it anymore, so I just started making my way towards the back and following this person that was in front of me also trying to get out. When I stopped, I found myself right where all the mosh pits were starting for 'Grand Theft Autumn/Where is Your Boy.' Joy. I was so close to getting pushed in, but I managed not to. Then I somehow wound up in a corner by the tables and couldn't get out. I was feeling a little claustrophobic then, so I just started pushing everyone out of my way until I was able to get out. haha.

When I finally got out, I went to the FOB/Clandestine Industries table, and aw, they had sold out of the FOB sweatshirt that I wanted. :( But I got an awesome Clandestine one instead. haha. I also got a FOB shirt.

Then I went over to the Academy Is... merch table and got a shirt from Chad, their merch guy. I also got some pins and then I tipped him. Yeah, I just had to include that. haha.

I went over to the FYE table to get one of the wristbands to meet FOB afterwards, but they were sold out of them. :( I went back to the TAI table and stayed there until FOB's set was done.

After they were done, I saw Adam and Gabe come out on stage and stage dive into the crowd. haha.

I wanted to get the TAI track jacket too, but I sort of had to wait because of the other people in line waiting to get stuff too. While I was waiting, I realized that William from TAI was standing practically right next to me. haha. I was sort of staring/looking at him, and I think he noticed because he looked at me and smiled when he turned his head in my direction. That was awesome, yeah, but eh, I'm a dumbass for staring/looking. But he's really, really cute [even better looking in person...haha] and I couldn't help it.

I was about to go up to him when he started talking to some other people, so then I went to Chad and bought the jacket. Then while I was going up to William, he went to the merch table. Sheesh. haha.

So then I went back to the table and up to William. I said hey and asked him if he would sign my ticket. At first, I don't think he heard me, because he just said, "Hey!" and just kind of looked at me, like, sort of saying, "Okay...uh, what now?" haha. So then I repeated myself, and he said, "Oh yeah, sure!" and he took the ticket from me, took out a Sharpie from his pocket, and, using his leg to support it, signed it. Then I asked for a picture, which he said sure to too. He put his water bottle he was holding between his legs. Like that matters at all. :P

And the picture's kind of big. Sorry about that. I tried to reduce the size of it, but it came out looking kind of distorted/pixel-ish.

He's really, really nice. And really tall. I'm about 5'7" ish, so he's probably something like, 6'3", or somewhere around that, I would say. And he's also really skinny too! I put my arm around his waist and yeah, I couldn't believe how skinny he is. haha. Ew, I look really bad though. My hair is so messed up and shit. Eh, oh well.

I said "Thank you!" to him afterwards, and he said, "Thanks so much for coming!" or something like that.

Then I just kind of walked around and went to the Midtown merch table. I saw Gabe there, but he was already talking to some other people and I didn't want to interrupt.

The merch that I got, plus the ticket that was signed by William. Yeah, it's to show what I spent $92 on. haha.

Then I went outside and was thinking of sticking around and try to meet someone else from TAI or something, but I didn't see anyone and the guards were making everyone go who wasn't going to the FOB signing, so I called my mom and left.

I'm surprised I didn't lose my voice...but I think it did get a little worse. Oh well. :P

[EDIT] I just found out that my parents and I are going to San Francisco tomorrow and staying there until Sunday and I really want to go to the Fueled By Ramen and Friends Tour there on Saturday. They still have tickets left and the venue's right by where we're going to stay! haha. I guess I could see...but that means going with my parents. If they are willing to go. Eh, it doesn't matter though if they were to go with me. I doubt I can go because I just went to it yesterday, but I'll see. When I asked my parents a little while ago, they didn't exactly say no to it, so...?
